Oxfam Trailwalker Canada Familiarization Hikes

To assist teams (participants and support crews) to prepare for the 2010 Oxfam Trailwalker Canada event, we have organized two more familiarization hikes prior to the event in July. We encourage teams to attend one or more of these hikes, and we will be supplying a shuttle from the end of the hike, back to your vehicles at the meeting area. The hikes will be hosted and guided by members of the Ganaraska Trail Hiking Association.

We ask that you register for the Hike that you will attend at least 5 days prior to the hike.

Oxfam Trailwalker Familiarization Hike 2 – Dusk to Darkness

Date - Saturday June 26, 2010

Distance – approx. 11.3km

Walk Description – Heights of Horseshoe Ski Chalet (CP4) to Sweetwater Park (CP5) This walk will cover Section 5 of the Oxfam Trailwalker route, at night. Please bring a head lamp.

Start Time – 8.00pm

Meeting Location – Sweetwater Park in Sugar Bush and Line 6, near Horseshoe Resort (Take Hwy 400 north past Barrie to Horseshoe Valley Rd., go east (right) on Horseshoe Valley Rd. past Horseshoe Resort to Line 6. Turn south (right) on Line 6 and drive approx. 800m to Sweetwater Park on the left). Note: you will be transported by bus back to the start of the walk at Heights of Horseshoe
